Banning's Restaurant Customer Reviews

"The king of 24 hour pie shops in my ever so humble opinion!  If you need pie at 3am they're there for you!  If you need coffee and a place to chat late into the night, they're there for you!  If you want fast service at 3am, well then you should probably try another pie place.  This was my favorite late night dining spot when I lived over in Tigard.  And, as far as food quality goes it kicks the pants off that other place (whose name rhymes with berries).  Their marion berry pie is exquisite, especially a la mode.  They also have a Mounds cake with rich creamy coconut, and chocolate.  And I have never left there hungry, or wondering why I just paid for that meal."

"I'm in the neighborhood so this is the place I go for breakfast on weekends or late night pie with friends. Recently remodeled to be more open (I preferred the more private booths).  Mostly fast service unless students on holiday go to Banning's en mass on a weekend night. A friend orders the five layer chocolate cake with ice cream. It's a mountain."

"My family and I have been going here for years! My sister actually use to work here, so we know all the food is almost all from scratch, the portions are hearty and the service is great. I will continue to go here and will recommend it to my friends. Try the 5 layer cake - I had it at my sons B-day party and it was a hit, just request in 24 hrs in advance and they'll have it ready for any occasion."

"Banning's Restaurant is a nice neighborhood cafe. The staff are always friendly and the pies are awesome. They use fresh local berries that are in season in baked and cream pies. The strawberry pie is piled high with huge berries. There’s always hot soup to go for the winter colds and a cup of coffee to sip at the bus stop on 99W. They are a valuable asset to our community."

"are you looking for a fun place to stop for comfort food...then this is your place. Stop by for a piece of pie after you karaoke next door. Good friendly staff"

"Nice new decor. No more smoke smell. The staff is fast and friendly. The food is delicious, especially breakfast (most especially the french toast and Southwestern Skillet)."

"My wife and I were impressed with this find. We expected it to be a standard diner, but it was much better. With a good menu selection, Banning's touches down with the basics, with good flavor. I do have good marks for their "Cheese and Broccoli Soup." It's home made, as is everything else. My wife had the "Fried Shrimp." She said it was hand battered, golden and crispy. Very good. As we ate our food, we contemplated buying a juicy pie from the rotating pie display case we passed by near the front doors. There were about 20 different ones to choose from. We ended up with the Strawberry Pie, stuffed with a vanilla custard. It ended up being our midnight snack. If your in the Tigard area, anytime, stop by Banning's along highway 99W. Banning's has good food and good prices, something the whole family will love."

"A Banning's breakfast is great! It's amazing how many places screw up basic hash browns, but Banning's gets them right every time. The breakfast is big, the quality is consistent, and the service, particularly during the week, is warm and friendly. If you just want some quiet time with a couple of eggs and the Oregonian, this is a great place."

"My family and I have been going to Banning's for years. Not only is the food homemade but in the fast paste society of today it is amazing to find a place where you are greeted by name upon arrival. Banning's really cares. This shows in the food and the servers. Friends of our family who have gone there for the first time have said they were treated equally as well. Even if it is busy, the staff ensures that you are happy with your visit...24 hours a day. The pies are made every day too---so don't forget to save room for dessert!"
